It has been what seems like forever since I last shared my beauty obsessions, let alone having sat down for an allotted amount of time to draft a blog post for that matter. So, straight from the Riviera Maya, I took some time to provide you with my favorites. Side note: I am posting what I purchase. I am sharing with you, my reader, the best of what I use on this face of mine. Here is a behind the scenes look of what lies within my make-up bag.
I have great skin thanks to Shareese Logan, and of course, my mother Dale’s genetic gifts, mixed with Danielle Smith at Botox LABB’s fillers, but aside from that, here are my top choices in these categories: foundation, blush, bronzer, scent, deodorant, eye/lip balm, body oil, facial balm/toner, eye pencil/mascara, body scrub and shaving hydrating crème’s, lip colors and glosses, face wash alongside the best shampoo’s for us fake blondes and hair products that leave this IGK cut and color looking on-par, post shower when I don’t have the time to do my hair. Mind you, some of these products come from the same line. I guess you can call me loyal to certain brands that just work!
Foundation: Trish McEvoy. This foundation blends in with your skin in the most flawless way, hence its name ‘Even Skin.’ It also is not cake-y, and when you apply it with a GEE beauty powder brush in a circular motion, it lies on your skin in the most even manner. It also works when you get a tan, because something in the special formula is very chameleon-esque, and at MsErinsita, we love versatility. It is sold out in quite many places, but I purchased my last bottle at Nordstrom in Aventura Mall.
Trish’s Even Skin Water foundation retails for $58.
Blush: Clarins.I finally found a blush that just works right. Not only is it completely the right color for any skin tone, when applied with a GEE beauty blush brush, in an upward motion, as you suck in your cheeks, it contours amazingly. The color is called Miami Pink, go figure.
I purchased mine at Bloomingdales in Aventura Mall, from NARS specialist Alex.
Miami Pink retails for $32.
Bronzer: Tom Ford. After using up my La Mer bronzer, I discovered Tom Ford’s beauty line. The Gold Dust bronzer, well, it is perfect. Not an obnoxious shade of faux tan, with a minimal shine, this product comes in a very chic packaging as well, and it is XL, so you are guaranteed not to lose it. It also lies perfectly on top of the Trish foundation, on top of a face powder, which I cannot recommend at the moment because I need to refill and upgrade/update that.
Available at Neiman Marcus, Bal Harbour.
Retails for $98.
Scent: Maison Francis Kurkdjian. I visited Seattle a year ago, I purchased a 400 dollar bottle of perfume by Sillage. My ex shouted, as usual, but it is okay, because as I learned, he was cheating on me at the time and had someone in my bed, telling her the clothes in the closet belonged to his ex-wife who never picked them up. I suppose I should have charged a few more while I was at it!
So, back to important facts: I love to support small business’ and 2: the shop owner Nasreen was incredible and knew her shit. Since my first bottle of Sillage, I only go to her for my scents when I am in need of smelling like heaven.
Most recently, she shipped me a few samples, and I decided to order Aqua Celestia by Maison Francis Kurkdjian, of France. It is a beautiful, refreshing scent comprised of notes of Lime and Black Currants. This heavenly bottle du jour is said to form ‘a seamless bond between the blue of the sky and the blue of the sea, forging a path toward absolute serenity. An emotional journey lulled by the harmony of the senses and the mind. A heavenly freshness tinted with Lime, cool Mint and Black Currant, softened by the generous fullness of Mimosa Blossoms from Provence. A celestial, musk-scented escape.’ The notes are Lime, Mint, Black Currant, Mimosa and a Musk accord. Do you J’adore the description, because I do!
Purchase at Parfumerie Nasreen in Seattle at the Hotel Alexis, 1(888) 286-1825, and shipping is FREE!
Maison Francis retails for $205.
Deoderant: Boot’s Roll On. My mother recommended this product to me years ago, so the only way you can get it is in London, however, we all know someone coming/going through Heathrow, so give them a call and ask for a delivery, because this not only prevents shvitz, it protects us from any odor that may exist, and it is paraben free! Funnily enough, last summer I nearly missed my flight because I was on the hunt at LHR! The struggle….
Boot’s deodorant retails for $1.
Eye/Lip Balm: La Prairie Anti–Aging Eye and Lip Perfection à Porter. La Prairie is the BEST in the world. I love going to my mom’s house and opening her top bathroom drawer, to an optical orgasm of Klein Blue bottles with silver accents. First and foremost, as per the natural digression, I decided to have my bachelorette party at the La Prairie spa in Switzerland; my kind of party. Ok, so back to the products: La Prairie produces the most sought after products in the world that only a few can have access to, due to the price points. Let me tell you, it is worth every penny to purchase this double sided compact, where one side is a heavenly lip balm and the other is an under eye balm, that gives accents of the perfect glow when applied by gently tapping your skin. Oh, and a fun fact: did you know that La Prairie products are not made in one facility. Each product is shipped to three locations within Switzerland, that way no chemistry secrets can ever get out! Let’s just say the return on investment is strong!
Purchase this at Saks Fifth Avenue, Bal Harbour Shops with Rosie.
Retails at $180.
Body Oil: Tom Ford. Soleil Blanc smells like your sunblock fantasy, yet provides hydration with a shine of golden sparkles. Tom Ford is so chic, most of the time, but let’s just say, he nailed it here. Spritz on your freshly shaved legs, apply on your arms and rub on your chest to look like you just stepped out of the Byblos Hotel in St. Tropez. #goals.
I purchased this at Neiman Marcus, Bal Harbour at the Tom Ford beauty counter.
Retails at $98.
Facial Balm/Toner: Elemis. When UK based Elemis Spa in Merrick Park was under renovation, I went in for a delicious facial with the specialist who was in town training the employees. On my way out, I purchased two items, the Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm and the Apricot toner. Never have I smelled two products for skincare that were so delicious. The balm, is rather special. Perfect for the bubble bath type of evening, you open the cylinder and using a tablespoon sized serving, simply apply the product, coating your face and neck and let it sit for 20 minutes. You remove it with the cloth and cold water, and your skin feels brand new, hence the name of the product, plus with a hydrated glow. Think couture Vaseline. The spray Toner is also incredible. A few spritzes on a cotton swab, 2x per day leaves your skin as clean as a whistle. Both are refreshing treats.
I purchased these products at Elemis Spa in Merrick Park.
Pro-Collagen Cleansing balm retails for $64, and the toner retails for $36.
Eye Pencil/Mascara: Trish McEvoy. Trish products are so amazing. I swear by them. A special thanks to her right hand, William Kirst for exposing me to the brand years ago. Trish has a navy blue gel eye liner called Arabian Nights and you should know that the color has stopped women in my inner circles, who just said wow. SO, I recommend lining the eye by pulling out your lashes and lining inside of the lid. It pops your eye shape and color. Her Lash Curling black mascara is also my go-to, as the mascara creates tubes around your lash so they look elongated, thick, and the best part, is when you wash your face after your day/night, they come off as tubes! 0-shmear!
You can purchase this at any Trish counter, or just buy it with the foundation at Nordstrom Aventura or at Saks Fifth Avenue, Brickell City Centre.
The gel eye liner retails for $29and the lash curling mascara retails at $31.50.
Body Scrub and Shaving Creme: Jo Malone. When I turned 33, my sista Maria B, gifted me a vat of Jo Malone body scrub. Heavenly, especially after a shave using a Harry’s Razor and Clean Shave Hydrating Gel Crème, a shaving crème by V79, your legs will feel like a baby’s bottom. Want to impress your man with silky n sexy, well, I just hooked you upppp!
The shaving crème is available HERE, and Jo Malone scrub is available at Saks Fifth Avenue, Bal Harbour Shops.
V79 Clean Shave Hydrating Gel Crème retails at $19, and Jo Malone body scrub retails at $98.
Lips: YSL + DIOR. Lipstick: My mother always wears YSL, but YSL has just come out with newly textured lipstick line called Rouge Volupte, and trust me when I tell you there is an uber shine that make the pout, simply pop! I J’adore number 13. Sexy with the Clarins Miami Pink blush. Gloss: Always in my bag on my side, the Christian Dior Lip Maximizer Collagen Activ gloss looks great on a bare lip, or on top of base color. The one I own and recommend is 001.
You can purchase these with Alex at Bloomingdales Aventura or at any beauty counter across the globe.
YSL’s lipstick retails for $37 and the Dior Lip Maximizer retails for $31.
Face Wash: Obagi Nu Derm. So basic, so smooth, so cleansing that it is simply perfect. Obagi’s cleansing face wash strikes me as the type of product that is perfect for all skin types, as it does not dry out the skin and leaves it perfectly pure. Botox LABB’s Danielle Smith recommended it, and since then, I have not looked for a replacement, that’s how perfect it is!
You can purchase Obagi Nu Derm’s Cleansing wash at Botox LABB.
Retails for $42.
Are you faux blonde like me? If so, you know, we all need a good purple shampoo, stick with Sunset BLVD. I have found that! R+Co keeps that $500 color job, by IGK’s Jennifer Quita, lasting for months!
You can purchase this product at Atma Beauty on Miami Beach.
R+Co shampoo retails for $29.
Hair: R+CO Detangling Spray & IGK Hair Product: R&Co. plus IGK Rich Kid. It is by pure accident that I realized that the R+Co’s Pinstripe detangling spray is incredible. Every day, post shower, even though I do not have knots in my hair, I apply a few sprays and let my hair dry au-natural. The spray, mixed with IGK’s product Rich Kid, a coconut oil based balm, makes this bob perfecta. All you do is apply when the ‘weave’ is wet, and voila. Like how my hair looks on a daily basis? Well, here is your success!
R+Co Pinstripe detangling spray is available at Barneys New York. Rich Kid is available at Sephora, or at IGK Salon’s nationwide.
Pinstripe retails for $22 and Rich Kid retails for $27.
