In the Mood to Vintage Shop in Paris, France? MsErinsita’s Top 8 Shops Will Blow Your Mind

For those of you who know me, and those who don’t, I have been traveling to Paris since I was two years old. As an adult, I lived there as well, at the time, aimlessly walking around, lunching, socializing and being a part time journalist, etc. There is always a method to my madness, and now, those four long years of residing in Paris, has allowed me to share with you, my favorite vintage shops (aka Depot Ventes) that you must not miss while in the +33.

Le Coin de Paris

Le Coin De Paris is one of my favorite gems, strategically located in between the Rue Saint Honore and the Champs Elysees. I have scored amazing Vintage Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Leonard, Courreges and Silver Fox Fur Coats with other peoples initials in the lining. It is all about getting down and dirty, but by the end of your experience within, you may find some true treasures. This past trip, I scored a Vintage Hermes silk blouse for my mother. 18 Rue Jean Mermoz, 75008 Paris

Pretty Box

Pretty Box is the definition of cool, as are the shop’s owners Sarah and Nicolas. I discovered Pretty Box because I used to eat at Candelaria, this underground Mexican joint, and happened to see the shop while en route. Located in Le Marais, this shop looks dungeon-chic, but has Pierre Cardin, Leonard Paris, Yves and beyond, that satisfy a designer loving hipster, or a girl like me. This past trip, I walked away with an Alaia leather jacket that I just could not resist. Pretty Box also has a selection for men. 46 Rue de Saintonge, 75003 Paris, France

La Jolie Garde-Robe

La Jolie is located down the street from Pretty Box, and also has many wonders to choose from. Designers galore lie within, and I once walked away with a Pierre Cardin belt (which reminds me, I don’t even know where it is!), and a Crème Hermes Trench Coat (that I have yet to have worn!). 15 Rue Commines, 75003 Paris, France

Studio W

This man knows what is up. One of the most prestigious collections I have ever seen is available here. The one thing I will tell you, is the owner is tragically rude, but it may be worth your visit if you can put that nastiness in a compartment. 21 Rue du Pont aux Choux, 75003 Paris, France

Ecrin de Mode

Tucked away on a side street, Ecrin de Mode is the perfect mix of consignment and true vintage. The shop is petite like its kind owner, who carries a beautiful selection of goods. It is in walking distance of Pretty Box, La Jolie Garde-Robe and Studio W. 6 Rue de Jarente, 75004 Paris, France

Antiquities – Galerie on L’ile Saint-Louis

Did you know there is an island in Paris? Yep. I always thought the center of Paris was at the Ritz in Place Vendôme. News alert. Wrong. So, I once had an apartment on this extra posh island where of course, I discovered Galerie. I still get emotional for not having purchased a 1970’s Audemars Piguet Royal Oak from the 1970’s. Anyhow, this shop is full of old YSL accessories, Vintage Valentino Clothes, Hermes handbags and some very cool, mod furniture. It is worth a visit and happens to be in close proximity to the shops listed above. 20 Rue des Deux Ponts, 75004 Paris, France

Le Depot Vente de Buci

Right behind the Saint Germain on Rive Gauche (left bank), is a tiny box that holds some major valuables. This past trip, I decided to leave a Courreges bomber jacket suit, but her assortment of goods is extreme. Nothing is organized, but that’s what enhances the real vintage experience. Wear underwear, because the fitting room does not exist. I once purchased an Alaia skirt there that is frequently repeated in my many looks. Yes, I once in a blue moon am a repeat offender. 4 Rue de Bourbon le Château, 75006 Paris, France

Depot Vente Vintage

The outside of this boutique one day screamed my name. I absolutely love this neighborhood, and especially this shop. I would add more after this post, but this past trip I over purchased here, and decided to call it a day. So, last but definitely not least, here is Depot Vente Vintage in the 7th arr (close to the Eiffel).

Depot Vente Vintage has a glorious mix from various era’s. I did not discriminate this past trip, walking away with Missoni high wasted pants, a cashmere Loro Piana sweater, a Vintage YSL, sweater, belt and a gold gown from 1989 that may potentially stop Danny Santiago in his tracks. 171 Rue de Grenelle, 75007 Paris, France

MsErinsita is seen in the header photo on the Champs Elysees wearing her purchase, the Loro Piana Creme Sweater, from Depot Vente Vintage along with Caldezonia Tights, Bottega Veneta Motorcycle Boots, a Loro Piana Navy Icery Jacket, a Hermes Cashmere Shawl and a Hermes Kelly Bag.  Eyewear by Linda Farrow for The Row.
