Reflections of a Fashion Guru

I credit my writing career to my Jacquelynn Powers Maurice, who reached out to me in 2011 upon launching a major game-changing magazine in Miami. With no professional journalism training under my belt, I learned I am allegedly interesting and was asked to share my stories, travel, and interpersonal experiences for the first two pages of the glossy Plum Miami. At that point, I was given access to two major editors, who guided me, showing me the ropes through what would become my career. J’adore you Glenn Albin and Eric Newill.
Since Plum, times have changed since, and I always give credit where it is due. Most recently, Powers got married to Romain Maurice, a French gem she met in France while they worked together for a Nikki Beach Magazine photo shoot, and the rest is history. Maurice moved to the Magic City to further his extensive photography career, so one day, I kindly requested his services to shoot my latest look for the blog.

Beyond professional (considering he has been in the biz for 15 years), I met Romain after I did my hair and nails at Salon Vaso, and before sunset, we decided to use the South of Fifth pier on Miami Beach as our backdrop.
As you know, I love luxury, and just a few weeks ago, I learned something very interesting. Hanro of Switzerland, my go-to for sleepwear du elegance, has just launched a very relatable, sporty yet chic ready-to-wear collection that defines my personal style. Casual with a touch of tailoring, you really cannot go wrong.
I am seen here wearing their new Spring/Summer collection (leather shorts, a dark gray rubbed tank and a lightweight shawl) that will be available soon, at Hanro of Switzerland.

****The Dog in my Header Photo, Miss. Louisa Vuitton, was dumped at Miami Dade Animal Services with three puppies that were taken from her. Depressed and alone, she was thrown on death row, where I discovered this gem. I fostered her for two weeks, and she is now in a great home, thanks to Tony Merenda****
