A ‘lil background: A few years ago, I volunteered for Style Saves. It was before the school season, and I signed up to help because I was asked to. I didn’t really know much about the org. I thought it was all about parties, however, I learned really quickly that in fact, this non profit changes peoples lives. I don’t come from a world where people can not afford to give their children school supplies. To be blunt, I was raised in Golden Beach and private schooled, etc…. so the few hours I spent, helping beautiful parents give new, donated outfits to their children made me cry and put my life into perspective. To see those smiles of the families, especially the children who were the recipients of new clothes, was just wow. Afterwards, one father sent me an email. He was a sports radio host, and told me that without Style Saves, he wouldn’t have been able to dress his kids, and how his drug addicted wife left him years ago, and how this day changed his life forever. His note changed my life too….

In my life, things happen in three’s. This past week I randomly found two pennies, heads up, then miraculously discovered $200 usd in a limousine. The purpose of this post is to explain that three of my favorite things are coming together: fashion, philanthropy and music….and what can I say: this Friday evening at the Edition Hotel on Miami Beach….well, you must NOT miss out.

As most of you know swim week will be approaching in just two days, and it gives Miami-ans and global’s some excitement this summer in my birthplace: the shvitzy city. I admit, even though I say that I don’t partake in the festivities, just last year, I threw on a bright red, way too short knit Krelwear romper, grabbed my web designer and old friend Brad Cummins and headed to SoHO House to see what Rachael Russell, a woman of many talents, including stylist to various celebrities and President and Founder of Style Saves, had up her sleeve. She never disappoints.

Russell exclusively tells MsErinsita “I’m really looking forward to including Calypso in the program this year, along with our returning friends at ishine365 & Kai Lani. Having Mia Moretti as our DJ and The Edition for a backdrop will really take this year to the next level for the organization.”

The show was just amazing, and proceeds go to her non-profit, which dresses underprivileged students with school clothes/prom gear/supplies, etc. As we sat beside the pool, with a runway built on top, it was more of a very impressive party, a celebration.
